Writing a “biography” or an “about me” feels a bit strange. I became a photographer — or rather, I began to communicate through images and audiovisual language naturally over these 30-something years. Perhaps images speak better than my writing, my speech, or my diction, but I found in these formats my way of communicating, protesting, declaring my principles and feelings, and making them public in an artistic way — sometimes using a confrontational, emotional, and (striving to be) creative language.
FORMAL BIO
I am a documentary photographer and filmmaker based in Brazil, focusing on cultures around the world, social causes, expressions of faith, and artistic and musical performances.
My journey includes working as a cinematographer in the documentary series H4TH, produced by Hillsong Global and filmed in South Africa, which was broadcast internationally. I also traveled through more than 30 cities in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil, on a missionary and social journey, documenting the reality of hundreds of vulnerable families alongside a faith-based community. This work culminated in the exhibition “Feeding Dreams, the Soul, and the Body, City by City.”
In addition, I lead the ongoing personal project “Enquanto Estou no Mundo” (While I Am in the World), where I share — through photographs, films, and texts — my encounters with different nations, cultures, and journeys.
For me, photography goes beyond aesthetics. I believe it is an instrument of restlessness and transformation. My desire is to touch hearts and confront — as a visual prophet — denouncing what wounds and announcing what heals.
